March 30, 1937 – October 16, 2020

Bert C. Robbinson passed peacefully in his home in Tulalip, Washington on October 16, 2020 following a long battle with cancer. Bert was born March 30, 1937 in Everett, WA. He was preceded in death by his father Orman Robbinson, mother Rosemary Stevens Robbinson, and his brothers Chuck, David, and Danny Robbinson. He is survived by his wife Cookie Fryberg Robbinson, children Bob (Sandy) Robbinson, Carol Wagner, Mike Robbinson, Leanne Fryberg, Steve Fryberg, Stephanie Fryberg, and Leonie Lindhorst; grandchildren Alisa, Rob, Chrissy, Jimmy, Albert, B.J., Brooke, Anthony, Bobby, Meika, Michael, Andrew, Randy, Anthony, Tyler, Steve, Rilla and DonDon (Double D); great grandchildren Sarah, Tela, McKenzie, Tyrone, Emma, Sadie, Koby, Kamrin, Kole, Aven, Alex, Chance, Melanie, Emily, Rian, Parker, and Carsyn; and great-great grandchildren Hazel, Troy, Arya, Elliana, and Rowan. His siblings Glen and Pat Robbinson, Steve and Sharon Robbinson, Robin Baker, Marilyn and Gary Bassett, and Karen Sue Robbinson, and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Bert graduated from Longview High School in 1955. He spent most of his career as a computer programmer and systems analyst. A self-taught computer programmer in the early 70’s when computers were relatively new. He spent most of his career developing and analyzing computer systems for REI, Egghead Software, Nintendo, Continental Foods (Sysco), and Costco. He retired in 2000 and spent the remainder of this life being an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandpa to his family, as well as a great friend to many who loved and adored him. He loved watching football, especially the University of Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks, playing slots at the Q casino, and socializing with his dear friends at Don’s. All that said, Bert was rarely seen anywhere without his life partner of 40 years, Cookie. 

The family thanks all those who shared their love and friendship with Bert over the years, but especially when he was battling cancer. 

Bert Robbinson’s graveside service will be at Mission Beach Cemetery, Tulalip, WA on Wednesday, October 21 at 12:00 pm. There will be a procession from Shafer-Shipman to the cemetery at 11:20am just before the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Shaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

January 24, 1954 – October 6, 2020

Toni Renee Sheldon passed on October 6, 2020. Toni was born January 24, 1954 in Everett, WA to her late mother Nola Heminger (Sisseton) and her late father Melvin R Sheldon, Sr. (Tulalip Tribes). She joins her brother Michael Sheldon, father Stan W. Fox, grandmother Theresa Sheldon and grandfather Robert W. Sheldon of Tulalip and her grandmother Cora Heminger, her aunties Rose Lewis and Gwen Hatch.

She is survived by her daughters Terra (David) Perrin, Theresa Sheldon, Shawnee Sheldon (Jeff Monsegur), Heidi Follestad (Chris Enick) and Courtney (Anthony) Jefferson Grandchildren Justine Sheldon, Alexis, Emily, Kailani, Adrian, Klayton, Kayleena, Jaidin, Isabelle, Lilly, Mason, Ma’Kylah, Kaidence, Madison, Amenya, and Baby Buffalo (Anthony Jr). Her brother Melvin R. Sheldon Jr, sisters Tina (Jim) Dillon & Nola Two Feathers and niece Alicia (Clayton) Horne and aunt Marlene Peterson.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1972. She attended the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in New Mexico. Graduated from Skagit Valley College with her Nursing Degree. She worked in Oncology at Skagit Valley Hospital. In early 90’s she became a social worker for Indian Child Welfare for Tulalip Tribes, volunteered on the Sea-Yaht-Sub Committee, and was the only female to pull canoe for Tulalip in the 1989 Paddle to Seattle. Last decade was spent being an amazing grandma to her grandchildren. We thank all the caretakers who gave our mother her independence. She will be greatly missed.

1951 – 2020

On Thursday, September 17, 2020, Dolores “Annette” Medcalf, loving wife, and mother of three passed away at age 68.

Annette was born November 4, 1951 in Seattle, WA. On March 14, 1969 she married Joe “Corky” Medcalf. She took care of many people as a home care aid for many years. They raised three children, son Kalonie, and two daughters, Theresa and Elizabeth “Mimi”, and granddaughter Kailene. Although there are many who call her Mom.
Annette was a loving and caring woman. She made friends wherever she went. She was smart, witty, and always ready to smile and laugh. She was an excellent cook and a crafty creative person.

Annette is preceded in death by her mother, Rose and several beloved brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Corky; children, Kalonie, Theresa and Mimi; grandchildren, Kailene, Mayson, and Zoie; great-grandchildren, Joey and Jaycee; brother Charles Blatchford; sisters Molly (Tamur) Zahir, and Leona Ward.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Tulalip Gym in Tulalip, WA with burial to follow at the Mission Beach Cemetery.
November 4, 1951 – September 17, 2020

JUNE 14, 1931 – SEPTEMBER 4, 2020

Clyde was surrounded at home by his family at his passing, along with his favorite caregiver, Terry “Pizano” (his nickname for her).

Clyde Williams was a member of the Tulalip Tribes and the son of Lawrence and Christina Williams. He served in the United States Army in the 1950s, and was stationed in Germany where he was chosen to play on the Army baseball team, the Flaks. Clyde was an excellent baseball player and a great pitcher. (He had an arsenal of nine pitches!) He was drafted into Major League Baseball by the Philadelphia Phillies, requiring him to go straight to training camp after being discharged from his service in the army. Ultimately, he decided not to join the Phillies and so returned home to his family. Clyde was a fisherman by trade as well as a self taught master carver, with many of his carvings still displayed in the Tulalip Casino, Hotel, and Health Clinic. Clyde is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Maxine Williams, three sons; Clyde Jr., (Monica), Alan (Arnel), and Gene Sr. (Julie), along with 13 grandchildren; Alicia, Tatiana, Christina, Alan, Bruce, Tiffany, Dane, Jason, Casey, Gene Jr., Evan, Brandon, Tanessa, and honorary grandson, Art. Clyde is also remembered by 25 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and enjoyed their company always. He is also survived by his brothers Herman and Arley Williams, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Christina and Lawrence Williams, sisters Jane Wright and Dorraine Jones, his grandfather, Andrew Fryberg and grandmother, Louise, and great grandmother, Elizabeth “Kiya”. 

Graveside service will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Mission Beach Cemetery.

NOVEMBER 12, 1968 – AUGUST 27, 2020

“Bo” Edward Lee Hamilton was born to Roxie Johnson Hamilton Brown and the late Eddie Hamilton in Joliet, Illinois on November 12th, 1968 and grew up in Warren Hill, Mississippi. Edward joined the Navy in 1986 and married Andrea Williams in 1993. To this union was born two sons: Neil Andrew Hamilton and Donovan Riley Hamilton. He served nine years of active duty for the Navy and then uprooted to Washington to be with his family. Edward worked at the Sea-Tac Federal Detention Center for 23 years. Throughout these years of service he made many lifelong friendships. He was truly an amazing friend, son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and cherished everybody and every memorable moment made. He had a love for fishing and was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan who looked forward to talking smack come the annual football season. Edward lost his battle with cancer and left to be with the lord on August 27th, 2020. He is proceeded in death by his oldest brother, Peter Darrick Hamilton, his father, Eddie Howard Hamilton and four grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Roxie Johnson Hamilton Brown (Antwon), former wife Andrea Williams, two sons, Neil and Donovan Hamilton (and their siblings), grandchildren, Nevaeh Rose and Adriannah Nicole Hamilton, special baby Lunani (Marliah) four brothers, Joseph (Erica) Hamilton, Michael D. Hamilton, William “Simon” (Benita) Hamilton, and Dennis Raymond (Leah) Hamilton and many relatives distant and near.

February 2, 1951 – August 2, 2020

Janet was an enrolled member of The Tulalip Tribes. After graduating from Marysville High School, Janet enjoyed learning the Culinary Arts. This was where she blended her love for food with the love of her people as she prepared meals for many, many people when she opened a food stand at Tulalip’s Boom City. For many years, Janet shared her infectious smile and fun-loving sense of humor across Tulalip. She fostered children when she could as her door was always open. She worked as a Table Games Dealer at the Tulalip Casino. She worked for bedachelh and she worked as a CHR Driver. Janet mentored many people and offered as much as she could if someone were in need. She spent numerous years on the Election Committee ensuring that everything was completed when the time came. She had quite a group of friends on that committee and cared deeply for all of them.

Janet’s family life was spent with her mate Charles R. Sneatlum Jr. and their two sons Charles III and Edward. She especially enjoyed her time with her special in-laws at the Muckleshoot Reservation. She enjoyed planning family reunions and, just as much, honoring the family history and culture by preserving as much information and teachings with her younger family members and other members of her family and the community.

Janet is survived by her son Charles R. Williams III (Jenny) and Timothy Jones, her siblings Arthur H. Williams, Thelma J. Williams (Cyrus), Marsha Judi Patrick, special son Francis Williams Sr., nineteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two dogs. She is also survived by her favorite nephew Jobey Tom Williams and favorite niece Valene Comenout. Janet also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, her special Mamason Carolyn Moses, and her caregiver Raetta Zackuse. Preceding her on her journey were her parents Wesley and Joyce Patrick, her mate Charles R. Sneatlum Jr., her son Edward King George Sneatlum, her uncle Amos A. Bob, her siblings Leonard Abner Van Pelt, Daniel Lee Patrick, Emeline Sally Patrick, her grandson Michael Sneatlum, her nieces Cheryl Bagley and Justine Comenout.
Janet’s family had a private Interfaith Service at one of the family homes on August 5, 2020. Visitation was held at Shaefer ShipmanFuneral Home on August 6, 2020 with burial at Mission Beach Cemetery at Tulalip, WA.

June 23, 1948 – July 28, 2020

Darlene was born in Seattle and grew up in various places in Washington State, where she graduated from Snohomish High School and met the love of her life in her junior year.

She married on August 19, 1967 to Harold Wolfer in Snohomish, WA. Their love was so strong they married two more times; one on their 25th wedding anniversary in 1992 and again in 2008, when they changed their last name to Taylor.

She was a housewife, mother, a grandmother, a driver for a children’s transportation company, and went to school for her medical assistant certificate. She also held a few positions at the Tulalip casino before her retirement.

Darlene loved children and helping others. She and Harold fostered five children over the years and adopted an additional one. She also became very close friends with the woman she took care of in her last job as a caregiver.

She touched a lot of hearts in her lifetime with her kindness and generosity and will be greatly missed by all those that love her. 

She is survived by her husband: Harold (Wolfer) Taylor, son: James Wolfer, daughter: Natialene Schopf, granddaughters: Ashley Schopf and Brittney (Ian) Martens, sister: Lois Satterthwaite, brother: William Harris, sister in law: Elaine Reed, best friend: Paula Lauderback, neighbors: John and Veronica Campbell, as well as many others; including sisters and brothers in law, nieces, and nephews, and all of her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her father: James L. Harris, mother: Velda Dunlap, step mothers: Pam Malm and Jane Harris, father in laws: John Wolfer and Dallas Taylor, mother in law:  Margie Fitchen, brothers: ErnieReed and Royce Harris, sister in law: Fay Harris, brothers in law: Gary Fitchen, Glenn Losey, Walter Taylor; along with fur babies: Pedro, Peanut, Sam, Prince and many others.

December 23, 1944 – July 17, 2020

Eleanor Elaine Enick known as Christine Enick her whole entire life was 75 of Tulalip, WA. Christine went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2020 in Mount Vernon, WA. Christine was born December 23, 1944 in Mount Vernon, WA to George and Rose Enick. Christine leaves behind her three children Edwina, Edward and Darwin Weaselhead. Grandchildren: Ray, Harold ,Ashley, Christina, Edward, Raenell, Waylon, Sky, Blake, Shelby. Greatgrandchildren: Nathias, Kaylee, Payton, Marshall, Donna, Nomiah, Leila, Daeron, Dream, Jelena, Tyler, Rupport, Aloycius, Devon, Hope. Siblings: Edith Enick, Phyllis Enick, Francine Ike, Georgina Bueno, and Connie White, Darrell Enock. Plus many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents George Enick and Rose Gobin-Enick, Brothers: Gerald Enick and Harold Enick, Sisters: Geraldine Williams and Rose Williams. Grandchildren: Marshall Britton and Tanna Weaselhead; Great granddaughter Juliette Frease Britton and other relatives and friends too numerous to list. Christine started to sing Christian gospel songs at age of 5. At age 7 she experienced singing on a radio station in Mount Vernon, Washington. Throughout Christine’s life she continued to bless many with her beautiful songs until she passed. Christine lived in the Yakima Valley for many years. Christine had worked with her mom and sisters at the Yakima Indian Nation Furniture and Hardwood Factory, plus worked at various orchards jobs with her parents and siblings. Christine had later gained employment with the Yakima Nation Housing Authority to renovate houses. During her retirement years you could find her raising funds to feed the homeless, offering a warm blanket, socks, shoes or a sleeping bag. Christine would often cook on special occasions such as Thanksgiving/Christmas to feed the needy. Christine loved to minister the word by handwriting bible studies for prison inmates. She would write them out on paper, then make copies and send them in the mail. On many days you couldfind her taking time out to read the word and do bible studies. Christine didn’t get very much time to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren due to living in other areas. When that chance came along, she enjoyed it with a big smile and laughter. The family would like to acknowledge a special person who she called her adopted son Robbi Garcia and his children who she loved dearly. RIP Robbi.

HUMBLE ARMY VETERAN PASSED AWAY JULY 12TH, 2020 WITH HIS FAMILY BY HIS SIDE AND MANY PRAYING FROM AFAR FOR A GREAT WARRIOR “UNCLE NEIL”

HE WAS BORN AUGUST 4, 1933 TO HIS LOVING PARENTS ALBERT AND ANNIE MOSES OF SNOQUALMIE WASHINGTON. RAISED WITH 13 SIBLINGS AND MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. A TULALIP TRIBAL MEMBER WERE HE LIVED HIS LONG LIFE.

HE BEGAN HIS JOURNEY WITH HIS LOVING MOSES FAMILY. COMING FROM A LARGE FAMILY WITH GREAT TEACHINGS AND BEAUTIFUL CULTURE. HARD WORK AND DEDICATION CAME EARLY, .AFTER SCHOOL HE SIGNED UP FOR THE NATIONAL GUARD. SOON AFTER HE INLISTED IN ARMY 1952 WERE DROVE HIGHER RANKED OFFICERS. THIS SKILL LASTED A LIFE TIME DRIVING THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN HIS LIFE. WERE HIS TREASURED MEMORIES WILL FOEVER LAST IN OUR HEARTS.

LATER BEING DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY. HE CAME HOME TO WORK AS A LOGGER, CUTTING SHAKE BOARDS. EVERY GREAT STORY HE TOLD ALWAYS INVOLVED FAMILY, FISHING AND MOUNTAIN LIFE. HIS LOVE FOR THE MOUTAINS GREW WHEN HE MET MARYA JONES MOSES HIS LIFE PARTNER OF 53 YEARS. THIS SKILL OF DRIVING CAME AS AN ART AND DEFINETLY WAS HIS BEST TRIBUTE AS ONE OF THE BEST FISHERMAN. HIS LOVE FOR THE WATER SHOWED. WERE THEY WERE THE GREATEST FISHERMAN. IT PUT TULALIP BAY ON THE MAP. PAVING WAY, OF COMMERCIAL FISHING AND SUPPORTING MARYA IN EVERY ADVENTURE. BEING A ELITE FISHERMAN WITH HIS CREW-CHILDREN BY HIS SIDE MAKING THE MOST HISTORICAL DAYS IN TULALIP BAY. HARD LABOR THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY CUTTING THE TREE DOWN THAT BUILT THE CANOES. CO-CAPTAIN AND DRIVING MARYA WAS SUCH A PASSION FOR HIM. TRAVELING AND BEING A GREAT SUPPORT TO THEIR COMMUNITY. THEIR INVOLVEMENT WITH COMMUNITY HELPED PRESERVE AND REJOICE IN OUR CULTURE. NEIL AND HIS BROTHERS HUMBLY PARTICIPATION IN SALMON CERMONIES. FINE TUNNING THERE DRUMS WITH BEAUTIFUL VOICE THE LEADING MEN AND WOMAN, TEACHING FAMILY’S FROM THE COMMUNITY. MARYA AND NEIL NEVER MISSED A FUNERAL WITH HIS GLORIOUS PRAYER SONG THAT INBEDDED INOUR HEARTS FOREVER. HE NEVER LET THAT BLESSING SONG GROW OLD, FOR IT COMFORTED HIS PEOPLE. BEING CO-CAPTAIN FOR MARYA WAS TRULY AMAZING. MARYA’S TIME WITH NEIL CAPTURED AND BUILT A GREAT FAMILY. RESPONSIBILITY WAS JUST ONE PIECE OF HIS GREATNESS. HOW HE CONNECTED WITH MARYA’S CHILDREN LEFT A BLESSING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. HE WAS A SMOKE HOUSE DANCER AND HIS BEST TIMES WAS WITH HIS BROTHERS AND KENNY MOSES SR SITTING AROUND A FIRE. PROUD TO BE A VETERAN HIS LONG TIME FRIENDSHIP WITH ALL PRESENT AND PAST MEMBERS OF TULALIP HONOR GUARD WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. ANOTHER TRIBUTE HE SHARED WITH MARYA BEING A GOLD STAR MOTHER BY HIS SIDE.

Duane C. Ike Sr, 75 of Tulalip, WA, went home to Glory July 6, 2020 in the comfort of his home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1947 in Chehalis, WA to Howard and Sally (Purcell) Ike. He was raised and educated in Toledo, WA. 

He was a member of the Yakama Nation. He started working at the age of 14. He worked for various logging companies Tiin – ma; Wheelers; Mistletoe; and Yakima Forest Products. He retired at the age of 63. He enjoyed family gatherings; fishing; hunting; wood whittling; reading; coaching sports; his grandchildren; and most of all studying the Word (Bible). He was a member of the Tulalip Worship Center.

He is survived by his wife Francine Ike; children, Lucille Ike, Sally Armour, Georgia Ike-Taylor, Francis Ike, Lois Ike, Duane Ike Jr., Louis Ike, Trisahna Ike, Travis Vanfelt Wasco, Billy James, Darrin Howard, Gilbert Andrews, Ron Iukes, Billy Herrera, and Jake Britton; and his sister, Lila Loggins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Rosalind Ike; son-in-law Kelly Joe Strong Sr; brothers, Matthew Ike Sr. and Ted Satanus; sisters Alice Ike, Charlette Wahpat and Helen Smartlowit.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Mission Beach Cemetery. February 11, 1947 – July 6, 2020
