Wayne Warren Williams, 89, of Tulalip, WA, passed away August 2, 2017. He was born May 10, 1928, in Everett, Washington to Francis and Harriette Williams. He serviced in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Wayne worked on the ferry boats for the Black Ball Line; he worked for Boeing; and for 40 years for the Tulalip Tribes, holding several positions such he was the manager for the Tulalip Tribes and the first general manager for Bingo. Wayne served one term on the Tulalip Board of Directors. Wayne had a keen business sense and was very helpful in getting the Tulalip Casino built. Wayne was widely respected in the Northwest and his advice was much sought after. Yet Wayne’s favorite job was being a grandfather. Wayne is survived by his children, Brian (Corinna) Williams, and Darryl (Julie Russell) Williams; grandsons, Joseph and Jordan Williams; and cousins, Roberta Skoog and Blanche James; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman with an Interfaith service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Tulalip Gym with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.

Donna Louise Bill-Tom (1995 – 2017)
June 7, 1995 – July 30, 2017 It is with great sadness that we have lost our beloved Donna Louise Bill-Tom, 22, of Tulalip, WA, who passed away July 30, 2017. She was born June 7, 1995 in Bellingham, WA to Jerome and Margiann (Solomon) Tom. She grew up in Tulalip. Donna was eager and willing to learn to make things by hand, such as shawl making, crocheting, beading, weaving cedar and wool. She was learning to cook for gatherings. She was never hesitant to follow her families’ traditions. Donna loved Stick Games. Donna is survived by grandmother, Jolene Bill of Tulalip; great-grandmother, Geraldine Bill of Tulalip; three sisters, Marsha Solomon, Lauralee Bill-Tom, and Sarah Ann Solomon all of Tulalip; four brothers, Jerome Tom Jr, Jesse Tom, Ray Tom and Lawrence Tom of Lummi, WA. She is also survived by numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Donna had a very special friend in spirit, Albert Young Jr. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margiann (Solomon) Tom; aunties, Kathleen Bill, Miriam Bill of Tulalip; uncle, Joseph Bill of Lummi; great grandfather, Joseph Bill of Lummi; grandfather, Richard J. Katherine Marion “Katie” Jimicum (1984 – 2017)
February 20, 1984 – July 30, 2017 Katherine “Katie” Marion Jimicum, 33, of Tulalip, WA passed away July 30, 2017. She was born February 20, 1984 in Everett, WA to Michael Jefferson and Ruby Jimicum. She was known for being loving and caring and would “Give You the Shirt off Her Back”. She loved her children. She is survived by her two children, Christopher Jefferson-Jimicum, Carlee Jones-Jimicum; and parents, Ruby Jimicum and Mike Jefferson; siblings, Sylvia Jefferson, Violet Jefferson, Alvina Jimicum, Theresa Jimicum; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe Jimicum, Jane Moses, Frank and Norma Jefferson; her sister, Lena Jimicum; and nephews, Dason and Carlos Jimicum. Connie Ann Watters (1953 – 2017)
April 10, 1953 – July 19, 2017 Connie Ann Watters, 64, of Marysville, WA passed away July 19, 2017 in Everett, WA. She was born April 10, 1953 in Everett to George and Betty Taylor. She grew up in Tulalip, WA and worked for the Tulalip Tribes – Smoke Shop, Bingo, and with the Northwest Fish Commission. She is survived by her husband, David Watters; son, Lee McCluskey; stepson, Nic X. Moser; siblings, Calvin (Marguerite) Taylor, Gus (Janet) Taylor, Sharon (Steve) Taylor, Lance (Tammy) Taylor, and Rod Simpson Jr.; grandchildren, Tyson James Morris-Miller, Draven Lee Morris, Sage Jess Robbins, Aiyiana Shay Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and patrons of Kuhnle’s and Friendly’s Taverns. Peter Ray Woods (1970 – 2017)
Peter Ray Woods, 47, of Everett, WA, passed away on July 5, 2017, as a result of an accident. He was born May 2, 1970, in Everett to James and Catherine Woods. He grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Peter was roofer and painter. He is survived by his four children, Shatona Woods, Brandon Woods, Isaiah Woods, and Marley Woods; siblings, Janie Woods, Larry Woods, Kevin Woods, and Tim Woods; five grandchildren, Amiah Woods, Samariana Wright, Bailey Powers, Russel Woods, and Tealyn Powers. Levi David Aleck Sr. (1936 – 2017)
April 21, 1936 – July 4, 2017 Levi David Aleck Sr., 81, of Marysville, WA passed away July 4, 2017. He was born April 21, 1936 in Mill Bay, B.C., Canada to Edmond and Sara Aleck. Levi was a logger, fisherman, he ran a green chain and was a fish technician. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Aleck; five children, Tony Aleck, Beverly Hobart, Chrissy Aleck, Mary Aleck, and Levi Aleck Jr.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death parents and brother, Frankie; and son, Joe Aleck Sr.; granddaughters, Crystal Aleck and Hope Jimicum; five infants – four boys and one girl; and great grandson, Markel Aleck. A visitation will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman with a Shaker Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym. Steven Arthur Maxwell (1962 – 2017)
Steven’s blue light special ended on June 19, 2017. He spent over 20 years working for K-Mart. Steven leaves behind his wife, Candace; son, Cory; step-children, Lyle Brown and Monica Brown, parents, Art and Olga Maxwell; siblings, Michael (Alecia) Maxwell and John Maxwell; and father-in-law, Raymond Sheldon Sr. There wasn’t a pond, lake, or even a puddle that didn’t have a fish Steven could see. The last few years of his life, he spent traveling with his wife and son from Hawaii to the east coast. His contagious laugh will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held on June 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.
Walter Paul Steinbach (1933 – 2017)
Walter Paul Steinbach, 83, of Tulalip, WA, died May 22, 2017, in his home. Walt was born May 24, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Walter and Ruby Steinbach. Walt was a commercial fisherman for over 50 years, fishing in the waters of Alaska and the Puget Sound in his beloved boat the Virginia M. He was a respected member of the Tulalip community and will be missed by all. Walt is preceded in death by Virginia Steinbach and Josephine Landert-Steinbach. Walt is survived by his children, Walt Steinbach Jr., Ed Steinbach, Carol Jones; six stepdaughters; seven grandchildren; 19 great children; one great-great grandchild; and many family members. A recitation of the Rosary and a funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Tulalip Gym.
Victor D. Nelson Sr. (1956 – 2017)
Victor D. Nelson Sr. of Tulalip, WA, left us to be with our Lord on March 19, 2017. Victor was born in Tacoma, WA, on August 25, 1956, to Thomas and Fuiko Nelson. The oldest of six children, Victor worked at Tulalip Bingo as a Caller for over 20 years before he retired in 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Fuiko Abe Nelson; his brothers, Thomas and Patrick (Pickle) Nelson; his mother-in-law, Josephine M. Landert Steinbach; and one grandchild, Mikyla. He is survived by his first wife, Jodi Nelson and their son, Jason (Corey) Nelson; second wife of 28 years, Betty, and their children, Natasha Clark, Layla (Myron) Fryberg and Victor Nelson, Jr.; special niece (daughter) Jeanifer (Lupe) Flores; siblings, Robert, William and Debra Nelson; father-in-law, Walter P. Steinbach; seven sisters-in-law; one Very Special brother-in-law; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; many nephews and nieces; and many, many grandnephews and grand-nieces. The family would like to thank Providence Colby Campus for the care of Victor during his illness. Mary Jane Jack (1942 – 2017)
February 3, 1942 – March 17, 2017 Mary Jane Jack, 75 of Tulalip passed away March 17, 2017. She was born February 3, 1942 in Darrington, WA to Jackson Harvey and Jessie Tommy. Mary was a master weaver, bead worker and knitter. She work at the Hatchery for 30 years and Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission. She was a teacher of Lushootseed language for the Sauk-Suiattle. She was an avid Seahawk fan. She travelled during the summer to various Pow Pows around the country. She is survived by her children, Rainey (Melissa) Jack Sr, Anderson Jack, Virginia (Matthew Charlie Sr.) Jack, and Timothy Jack; her sister, Rosie Kempf; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Windy Jack; sons, Peter Jack, Peter Jack II, and John Harvey Jack; and siblings, Helen Pierce, Violet Napoleon, Sally Moses, Paul Harvey and Casper Harvey.
