Dennis Lee Hegnes

Dennis Lee Hegnes Sr. was born on June 6, 1946, a Thursday, in Everett, WA. He entered into rest on January 13, 2024, a Saturday. 

Dennis was born to Clay and Lois Hegnes and was a lifelong resident of Tulalip, WA. He graduated from Marysville High School. Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force for four years with another two years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He worked for Welco Lumber and the Tulalip Tribes Building Maintenance department for many years. 

Dennis married his wife, Marion, on October 8, 1968 and they created a happy and content life together. They had three children, Dennis Jr., Donald, and Denise. They were married for 42 years, until her death in 2011. 

Dennis was a family man who liked to joke around. He was a fisherman and carpenter who liked travel and outdoor activities.

Dennis is survived by his children, Dennis and Pieper Hegnes Jr., Donald and Belinda Hegnes, and Denise Hegnes; his grandchildren, Amanda Hegnes and John Baca, Katerina Hegnes, Nolan Hegnes, and Emily Hegnes; his great-grandchildren, Grayson and Roman; his siblings, Pam Hegnes, Sue and Chuck Campbell, and Herb Hegnes; his special sister, Lillian and Franco Gomez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Marion Jones Hegnes; his grandson Jaylend Hegnes; his parents, Clay and Lois Hegnes; and his special siblings, Viola Jones Spencer and David Spencer Sr.
